blog week 133

another week has been and as usual, there were a lot of things that happened and that was done.

BON VOYAGE ...

on monday, my youngest uncle (my mom's half brother), justine left for the states for good. well, imagine that he had spent his entire life here, he finished primary and seconday education here, his mom, relatives and friends are all here, his life was practically here, and then he woke up one morning, off to go to a whole new place with a whole new set of people and start a life there for who knows how. hay! at least, we all know that these are all for the better, so good luck to you tin! and we'll definitely miss you back here! mwah!

AN INSTANT PARTY!

there's something that we did look forward to when coming to work that monday night. our team, EarthLink Manila, won the Call Center of the Month Award, out of all the call centers out there, both from the Philippines, India, the States, etc. and aside from the award, the Vice President for Customer Support, Dhon Berryman, arrived to congratulate us, and to give us a simple party. it was cool, dhon was really funny and all, there were 25 barrels of KFC chicken, and 25 huge boxes of Yellow Cab Pizza, well, it wasn't a simple party after all, but everyone was really content and full after two pieces of chicken and two slices of pizza each, yum yum!

THANKS DAD!

from one of those email messages i send my dad every now and then, i told him out of nothing that carlo and i was planning to buy an air condition for some prevention purposes, and just because the summer heat in our country is just oh so hopeless that i even got sick two weeks ago remember? guess what, my dad just sent some money on my bank account for it. wow, i wasn't even asking for it dad, but thank you so much! you're really the best! hah hah hah! luv yah!

CURRENT LIFE ISSUES

first, the basketball league being held on the basketball court, literally infront of our house, is still on going. so that means, a non-stop noise, huge amount of people coming in and out of the village, and less sleep for me! gggrrr! second is that our PLDT phone line application is still on their so called "waiting for approval status". come to think that it has been a month since i applied for it. what the hell is that approval all about that it needed to take a month for an answer! third, there's a hude problem with our pipes in the house, so were like on the search for the plumber of the hour, anyone ...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR MERLY

a close friend of mine way back senior high, just celebrated her birthday last saturday. Merly Remolano, the youngest daughter of the owner of Ding's Lechon Baka and Catering Services, ever heared of that? anyways, there were some things that happened that night. first, it was raining so hard that carlo can't even drive properly. then, the road on our way to their place was flooded so we needed to take an alternate route. well, we got there around 10pm, so late for the 7pm schedule. but when we got there, i saw some of our former classmates, and one of them, victoria, brought her baby boy kyle with her, he is sooo cute. we ate the ever original favorite grilled baka she always have, and some other food they all prepared. my throat was just abused again, since merly's sister and their friends just don't stop asking me to sing some songs they wanna hear, oh you guys! well, we had fun and had much food, haha! happy birthday dear! enjoy your Magnolia Hand and Nail Cream from Marks and Spencer! mwah!

THE EARLY FATHER'S DAY GIFT

it's carlo's last week on training for Starbucks last week, so finally, he no longer need to go to makati this time, then to the store in commonwealth the other time. now, he will just be exclusive to the store so it's less travel and less stress for him, good! well, since father's day is in three weeks time, i asked him if he wanted the pair of nike slippers we saw at the mall as a gift, and he said that he would like to have a pair of shoes instead, oh no! what a spoiled bratt! haha! so we spent the whole sunday afternoon walking around the entire ayala center, from greenbelt 3 where we parked, all the way to the whole glorietta mall. he originally wanted to buy a black sneakers from lacoste he saw from my magazine. but after seeing how soft and "cheap looking" it is, he decided to get Dr. Martens instead. and that took him five hours to decide, take note! (men are really worse when it comes to shopping! joke! haha!) it was cute but the shoes just made me 4k poorer that day. well, for as long as my barista is happy, then there's no problem at all! Advanced Happy Father's Day Mahal! mahal ko ikaw!

that's it for last week guys. chao! (",)

mushy stuff

they said ...

there's this forwarded text message that will make you ask your friends of one word to describe you, and of no reply will be a curse to your friendship or something ... well, i asked some of them and this is what they said:

cheska ---> caring (well, i am so to you baby chekai!)
dennis ---> intelligent (ha-ha-ha! this one's flattering!)
erin ---> confident (yeah, should be, haha!)
eric ---> confident (erin and eric are two different people with the same answer huh!)
rochelle ---> goddess (ok, that one's obvious! hahaha!)
roy ---> sweet (aahhhhh!)
janice ---> madaldal (so you can't think of a better one! hehe, at least you're honest)
pakko ---> thoughtful (this ones effortless for me!)
aleck ---> nice (nice! haha!)
iris ---> makulit, madaldal, masayahin, generous (well, my sister-in-law just can't think of one, and even thinks for more, hah hah)

well, thanks for the (not so) revelations guys. and for those who haven't replied yet, we still have 16 hours to go and save our good friendship out of the curse, hehe!

i am an Elm Tree ...

check out aleck's blog, check where your birthday falls on the options listed, it will tell you what kind of tree are you, and will give you a description of your personality. well, here's mine:

Jul 15 to Jul 25 - Elm Tree (my birthday is July 22 so i'm included on this block)

ELM TREE (Noble-Minded)
- pleasant shape, tasteful clothes, loudest demands, tends not to forgive mistakes, cheerful, likes to lead but not to obey, honest and faithful partner, likes making decisions for others, noble-minded, generous, good sense of humor, practical.

so true! don't you think? but there's some part that i object to
... loudest demands - ok, this is always for the good!
... tends not to forgive mistakes - well, i don't even care if someone commited any!
... likes making decisions for others - i'm just always for the better on the way i see things, and i only give opinions and definitely not decisions, it's always still up to them
... likes to lead but "not to obey" - hey! i'm obedient enough, and my parents can attest to that, hah hah! (",)

latest song being memorized ...

CONSTANTLY

I knew it was there
Though I tried to hide it
The feeling just kept on shining through
Haven’t known you that long
So I try to deny it
But the feeling was much too
Much too strong

Could this be love
Deep down inside
Tearing me apart
I feel it in my heart

Constantly, you’re on my mind
Thinking about you all the time
I can’t sleep no matter what I do
I just keep on thinking ‘bout you

Why do I feel this way
When I know you have someone
That you’re seeing each and everyday
Should I play this game
Of just being that’s not where
I want it to end

How could this be wrong
When it feels so strong
Tearing me apart
I feel it in my heart

Constantly, you’re on my mind
Thinking about you all the time
I can’t sleep no matter what I do
I just keep on thinking ‘bout you

No I don’t want to start
No trouble
Between you and I and you lover
But I must tell you what I’m going through
Everytime you walk by
I see love in your eyes

blog week 132

last week was a week of some adjustments and and stuff, well these are the highlights ...

it was carlo's first week at work (technically still on training) and it was cool! he said that it was really a nice feeling of being productive and seeing how people around him appreciates what he do, having a routine which is basically a good direction of life each day. he is just simply happy about his new hobby! he got to meet a lot of new friends, had learned a lot of new things (well, he basically have learned how starbucks do their business, haha), he make use of the course he finished, and most of all, there were a lot of benefits, and he got to drink three beverage of his choice, and even bring home a frappe of our choice everyday. hah hah hah!

last week was the first week that we had a househelp. so i practically spent the whole week suprvising her, teaching her how to do this and that and what to do next. well, i was lucky to have her, i may say, as early as now. she is definitely a fast learner, she understands each instructions i give and just do the best out of everything we ask. well, it really is a big help since she is a high school graduate and has past experiences with all those household chores and dealing with the child thing. she and nianne get along well. i just hope that everything will be as good as it is for the past days.

the basketball league for our baranggay have started last week as well. my brother was ofcourse one of the players for our subdivision, and he is really awesome. the way he spread his arms were just oh so simple that as if he's just trying to reach for something but he will actually get a grab of the ball. each game was always a game full of suspense and excitement. well, thanks to our dad for passing to him that great stand and play when it comes to basketball. i just wish they will win till the finals. it's a good thing i get to watch his games just before i leave for work since the basketball court was just infront of our house. it's just that the anouncer and the audience of each game were too loud that i am off the bed on as early as 4pm. *sigh ... i need to sleep guys!

i have been addicted to the meteor garden full edition. i know it sound funny, but it was really good and funny and real. nianne was so hooked to that as well, her understanding of things are really unbelievable. it started when i wanted to just be with her, so the so called quality time was always spent before 6pm everyday. well, i'm just simply a romantic person that's why, and she inherited that. hihihihihi ...

it has been a busy week again. atleast i'm back to work even if it takes the sacrifice of taking calls with a voice like this, i know i'm still not that good, but i'm still trying to be. (",)

i'm back ... and still sick

i miss bloggin' ... ok, this post will be a combination of activities and sickness, and life changes and everything, that happened for the past two weeks. sorry guys, the last time i posted was like two weeks ago and it's like forever, since there's a lot of things that happened and i feel so empty if i'm not going to share it with you, haha! here it goes ...

I WAS REALLY SICK ... SO SICK

i was at the office for two weeks straight. the last week of april and the first week of may, since my scheduled restdays was being used by somebody else who asked for it. kind me. well, for the first week of may, i was @ work on sunday, monday, tuesday and wednesday nights. i was on rest by thursday, and that's when i started to feel sick. but then i was back to work on friday and saturday, as needed. until my body just broke off on sunday. i decided not to attend to work on sunday night since my voice was almost gone and i already have a severe headache. my fever started that night, carlo had to woke up every two hours to check on my temperature and to assist me in drinking my medicine. i was trying to sleep and was on the bed the whole monday, day and night. i cannot even get up to go to the restroom, and i had to eat soup and soup, and a cheeseburger. *sigh. my fever was really weird. i was extremely hot if you try to touch me, but my body temperature's not even higher that 37 degrees celsius. weird. carlo decided to bring me to the hospital on tuesday morning. since his mom was going to the Capitol Medical Center, we came along. carlo brought me to the emergency room, i was asked to sit on a wheelchair, and there were like 6 doctors who did check me up, since i think i really look like a dying sh*t already, well, sort of, haha! then they gave me some medicine for my headache, and just asked me to inhale more medicine from a nebulizer. we stayed at the hospital for about an hour. and i said that we needed to go ahead, pretended that i am fine already, since we are to enroll nianne to school afterwards. well, they allowed me, giving me some list of the medicine i still need to take, and the name of the doctor that i should consult the next time. well, it doesn't end there. i was dizzy, and stucked on the bed with the nebulizer on my mouth for the rest of the week. although i've forced myself to do some stuff like prepare breakfast or something, my knees were shaking. i feel much better on friday, but is still dizzy. today, my voice is monotoned, i have a clogged nose, i was coughing to death, and i am taking calls, wow, super self abusive me... tsk tsk tsk ... although i don't really feel guilty being sick, not even being hospitalized, since there's my maxicare card always by my side, hahahaha!

PAKKO MENDEZ Jr.

two fridays ago, joi and i went to the Makati Medical Center to visit one of our colleague who just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. that was three days after he was born. Pakko Mendez Jr., oh what a name. haha! it was a blessing for pakko and toks and we can really see the joy and the glow in their eyes everytime they look at their child. wow. and oh, speaking of being a mom ...

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

happy mother's day to all the mother's out there ... yeah i know it's late ... i was offline remember... haha. and even if i am was really sick that day, since it's mother's day. i forced myself, carlo, nianne and i had dinner at Chubbies, their grilled stuff are just oh so yummy.well, happy mother's day to my mom, my mother-in-law, my lola yvonne, and all of my mother other relatives, mother in-laws, mother friends, mother colleagues and to all proud moms in the world, happy mother's day to us!

A BARISTA WAS BORN

while i was so sick and helpless and weak that week. carlo was so busy for a new career, a new career in Starbucks. he was called by an HR representative, was scheduled for an interview, was hired, was asked to sign a contract and is now undergoing training. wow. he was assigned to work in Starbucks Commonwealth branch, which is cool, since it's one of the newest stores and it's near our place. although the salary was realy not that competitive, their benefits are really benefits, haha. they're entitled for 3 tall drinks of their choice each day, 2 packs of 200grams of coffee bean, 20% discount of food and beverage purchases from any store, 10% discount for some stuff sold in the store aside from food and drinks, 20% discount from all partners of the Rustans Group of Companies and many more. wow. there will definitely be a lot of changes that will happen. and carlo will definitely learn how to drink coffee now, and forget about his Rhumba Creame Frap, haha. Good luck mahal, we are so proud of you. just don't forget to share the discounts! =)

WATER FUN NO MORE

we went to water fun last friday and we were disappointed. water fun used to be a water park where in you'll really have lots of fun, not anymore. it's just 11 years old but the management was not good enough to maintain the energy of the place. there were still lots of people swimming and trying to enjoy, but the place itself was no longer enjoyable. the water on the swimming pools were all brown already. there were a lot of leaves scattered all over, the tables were all dirty, and the slides were even scary and unsafe. sayang. that was the only reaction kevin and i had. well, since the kids had enjoyed theirselves anyways, were good. but it really feels bad to have realized that was the last time we'll be going there. =(

PAHIYAS FESTIVAL

we went to Sariaya Quezon last sunday for the so called Pahiyas Festival. well, technically, it's the Feast of the patron saint San Isidro Labrador ... i guess ... haha, not sure. but since it's a tradition for them to decorate their houses with food and colorful stuff, it was then known as the Pahiyas. well, it was cool. the house of carlo's grandma was really cute, colorful, yet simple. and all of those were exclusive for us so it was great haha. they usually allow the people to get the stuff, like the decoration and the food on the houses as a part of the feast, but for thier house, it's for us alone. saya! we spent the whole afternoon, eating, and buying for hats and fighting with heat and buying a lot of pasalubong. we went home around dinner time and it took us almost five hours to get to manila, compared to the three hour trip going there. well, we sure had lots of fun and we got to bring home longganisang lukban so it's really worth the trip! nothing beats the Philippine Fiestas!

TRYING TO FORGET ABOUT PRIVACY and INDEPENDENCE

since carlo already have a so called 8 to 5 work, and we'll definitely kill ourselves if we still try to do everything on our own, we decided to get a househelp. luckily someone had recommended someone who is practically good and well referred (she was a wife of one of their painters, and a friend of their assistant for over a lifetime already) so we did went ahead and got her. her name was lisa, it was her first day a while ago and we all felt odd. there's now somebody else other than carlo, nianne and me. we now need to consider another feeling, another person. we can no longer do the things that we used to do, can't be what we used to be something ... well, it's all for the better and i know that it's all in the process on adjustment. good luck to us ... hehe!

it was really a busy and tiring week for me. but then i got to do a lot of things so i'm fine. just praying that i will feel more better on the coming days ... (",)

latest song being memorized ...

Same Ground
Kitchie Nadal

My love,
Its been a long time since I cried
And left you out of the blue.
Its hard
Leaving you that way when
I never wanted to.
Self-denial is a game
Its strange
I never would've
Wanted 'till there was you.

'cause I have learned that love is beyond
What human can imagine,
More it clears the more I have to let you go.

But now I don't understand
why I'm feeling
So bad now when I know it was my idea.
I could've just denied the truth and lied.
But why am I the only one standing stranded
On the same ground?

'cause I have learned that love is a
Word gets thrown a little bit too much.
The best excuse to fill the infinite abyss
I would never ever have to if

When else fail,
Would you be there to love me?
When all else fail,
Would you be brave
To see right through me?

blog week 129

woke up around 6am on monday morning. prepared breakfast and just cleaned half of the house(particularly the upper part of it) when carlo left around before lunch. when he got home before dinner we just ate and i planned to took a nap. well, because of that nap, i gained my first official NCNS (no call no show) mark on my schedule adherance. this time, it's a valid one since i didn't call at all, well, sorry. i was sleeping already and carlo didn't wake me up with the reason that of he wanted me to be home instead and he saw that i was tired.

back to work on tueday night, unfortunately, i am again suffering from the so- called "insomnia". from wednesday thru sunday i only manage to sleep for freakin' three hours!!! well, i was in the office for almost the whole week so my body was some kinda adjusted to the sleep, good thing i wasn't sleepy at work!

i had to attend to work on saturday and sunday nights, since i am a good friend/collegue, i agreed to let some of my co-workers to use my restdays and i'll use theirs. when i got home on sunday morning, i slept around 7 am and woke up around 11am, what else??? when i get up, i helped carlo on the laundry, then we prepared lunch and ate. around 1pm, we went the house and decided to check out the mall sale in SM megamall and to do the grocery. we dropped by my in-laws house and found out that we needed to attend to this mass in the wake of carlo's granduncle. but then after around two hours, there were changed of plans as usual, and carlo said we'll just go on tuesday. so we went to his friend's house and just made his hands dirty with some grease, haha. then we went to shopwise to get some grocery and went home. after dinner we went to megamall. we were planning to buy some lamps for our dining area but we ended up buying other stuffs. and i am so happy i finally got a copy of nina's latest album. at last! i really can't find a way to buy one because of a lot of things i've been thinking and doing lately, but i already have one, yehey!

back here in the office on a sunday night. not much calls, lots of food on the floor and not much people around since it's a weekend. i really wish that next week, i will be blessed with enough sleep and more ... sleep. (",)
